The Maritime Centre

The Maritime Centre is a not for profit organisation that is dedicated to recording, collecting and telling the stories of the men and women who worked for the busiest coal export port in the world. The Maritime Centre is self funding and as such relies on admission fees, function hire and donations to keep its doors open. Fundraisers also go a long way to helping the Maritime Centre continue to tell the history of Newcastle’s port. Deb Mastello has worked at the Maritime Centre for about a year and a half. In June 2010, Deb and her sister Niki will be endeavouring to climb Mt Kilimanjaro, the highest peak on the African Continent. Our aim is to raise money for the Maritime Centre to help with the day to day running expenses.
