River’s Gift was established in November 2011 by two devastated, yet focused and determined parents who were searching for answers surrounding the death of their son, River Waddell. River passed away in his sleep at just 128 days old to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
River’s Gift’s vision is to create a world without SIDS, and what started as a local Geelong charity, has now evolved into a global movement with thousands of supporters across the world.
River’s Gift is one of the largest sources of non-government funding for SIDS research in Australia, and in conjunction with partnerships, fundraising efforts and sponsorship, we have generated nearly $1 million to fund research to help find a cure, provide SIDS education and safe sleep strategies, and raise awareness.
