Foundation and Friends of the Botanic Gardens is an independent not-for-profit organisation that works to support the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust through raising funds and community awareness of the important conservation, science and educational work undertaken by the Trust. With 50 per cent of all funding coming from non-Government sources, increasingly the Trust must rely on income generated through donations and community support to enable it to continue with its vital work.
With a mission to inspire the appreciation and conservation of plants, the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust is a centre of excellence in scientific research, sustainable horticulture, conservation and community engagement. Trust scientists research and conserve species against the global threats to plant biodiversity, educators inspire young people to understand the importance of plants for human survival, and horticulturists tend to the incredible diversity of plant-scapes at the Trust’s three Gardens -the Royal Botanic Garden and Domain in Sydney, the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden at Mount Tomah and the Australian Botanic Garden at Mount Annan.
