3.Information on how to enter and information on the 'Run For A Cause and Run For Free' incentive is part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

4.Rebate offer is only open to Australian residents with an Australian bank account, who raise money via the GoFundraise online fundraising system for an eligible BSRF09 charity located at www.gofundraise.com.au and reach their individual rebate target as per below:

5.The rebate amounts and targets are as follows:

Australian Early Bird Entry Fee*    Target to be eligible for rebate*

Bridge Run                        $50*                             400
Half Marathon                   $80*                              600
Marathon                          $135*                             900
*Rebate amount is the early bird rate or the amount paid, which ever is lower & can only be rebated to the payer of the entry fee.

6.To be an eligible BSRF09 charity the charity must sign the appropriate paperwork with GoFundraise and be featured on the event page www.gofundraise.com.au/bsrf2009.aspx

7.Participants who fundraise on the GoFundraise site but do not have their page associated with the event page and an eligible charity are not eligible for a rebate even if they reach their target.

8.Rebate comes out of the monies donated by the fundraiser’s donors to BSRF09 associated charities not any other third party organisation.

Failure by GoFundraise to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

10.Multiple entries permitted, subject to the following: (a) The rebate can only be received once per individual, team pages are not eligible for rebate & do not count towards rebate total for individuals.

11.For the purpose of this promotion the start and end of the day will be based on Sydney local time (AEDT).

If a participant registers after the early bird cut-off date and is as per the terms and conditions entitled to and claims the rebate for their event, this participant will only receive the early bird rate not the greater rate as a refund.

15.Once a fundraiser has reached their rebate target (as per the above table) and their fundraising page displays that the funds raised is equal to or greater than the amounts mentioned, they will be given the option to either leave their entry fee rebate funds with their charity or choose to claim the rebate amount.

16.Participants who do not provide accurate and complete bank account details or fail to click on the “Claim Rebate” link located at www.gofundraise.com.au/bsrf2009.aspx prior to 11:59pm AEDT on and before 5/10/09 will not be entitled to the rebate for their entry fee.

17.When the fundraiser reaches their target and their fundraising page displays that the funds raised is equal to or greater than the amounts mentioned, they must go to www.gofundraise.com.au/bsrf2009.aspx if and click on the “Claim Rebate” button and then follow the prompts. If for any reason the fundraiser is unable to follow this link it is their responsibility to email bsrf09rebate@gofundraise.com.au with all the appropriate required information by the closing time to receive their rebate.

Famous Leprechaun in Sydney Marathon
Creator   Adrian Raftery
Close at  Thursday, 20 May 2010

42,195 small steps for the World's Tallest Leprechaun ... one HUGE leap for Bears of Hope.  MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!

YOU THINK THE WEATHER IS HOT?  TRY RUNNING IN A LEPRECHAUN OUTFIT FOR 42.2KM!

*** SET UP YOUR OWN SOPHIE BEAR DRIVE PAGE IN HONOUR OF YOUR CHILD  http://sophiebeardrive.gofundraise.com.au/ ***

Many thanks for your support ... if you feel inspired by our efforts then I would welcome your support with a donation.

As promised I ran the Sydney Marathon (42.2km) in a leprechaun suit
on September 20. My time was just over five hours (5.03.30) on a very warm spring day (28 degrees).

All funds raised go to Bears of Hope Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support www.bearsofhope.org.au, a cause very close to my heart.  I welcome any contribution, great or small, that you can make!

http://parramatta-advertiser.whereilive.com.au/news/story/larry-leprechaun-gives-hope/

Unfortunately, my family knows Bears of Hope too well. Our baby girl, ~Sophie Cleo~, was born sleeping on 14 December last year. During that initial tough & traumatic time we were presented with Bluey and support from Bears of Hope. Bluey has been a tower of strength to us ever since.

Now just about anyone can shave a head or grow a moustache to raise funds for charity (and good on those that do), but not many are willing to take on a real physical challenge and run 42km!  Then again, it will take a marathon effort to raise much needed funds - but I will – with your help.

All donations to this site are electronically wired to Bears Of Hope and a receipt is emailed to you immediately.

Help me make a difference by making a small donation - every little helps.

Thank you for your support!

Helen Sanderson40.00My heart goes out to you and your wife, Adrian. Your story brought a huge lump to my throat. My son Ryan was born sleeping, but over 30 years ago and no help or counselling for parents then. What a marvellous cause. Good luck, and may you exceed your fundraising target for Bears of Hope. PS All the best on the run and stay hydrated!!

Adrian Raftery1,000.00Bears of Hope need help to raise funds for their program - these funds will go towards placing an order for 1,000 bears. After the positive impact that Bluey made to our lives, we want to help other families during their tough times as well. Did you know that in Australia, one in four pregnancies ends in loss and that over 2,000 babies born sleeping each year?
