Ironman 2010
Creator   Lisa Brentnall
Close at  Saturday, 24 April 2010
5 years ago my Mum issued me with a challenge to complete a full Ironman distance triathlon. At the time she didn't know the massive distances involved or that she wouldn't live long enough to see me commit to it, let alone to complete it.
In memory of my Mum, and in order to raise much needed funds for the charity founded in her memory, I have entered the Port Macquarie Ironman triathlon and have committed to swimming 3.8km, cycling 180km and running 42.2km on 28 March 2010. I have never even contemplated doing anything of this magnitude before and will be relying heavily on my Mum's strength and the support of my family and friends to get me to the finish line.
All monies raised will go to the Lynne King Cancer Care Foundation which donates money, support, time and information to those suffering from terminal cancer. Please take the time to visit the Foundation's website (www.lyncares.com) for more information about the charity.
Thankyou for your kind support.
    Lynne King Cancer Care Foundation

The Lynne King Cancer Care Foundation helps those with cancer who, through personal circumstances, need financial, emotional or medical support. There are many people in our society who lack a functional family support network and battle with cancer on their own.

The Lynne King Cancer Care Foundation was established in memory of the late Lynne King, who as a nurse spent much of her life caring for those with cancer. To read more of her story go to www.lyncares.com
