Help Beat Multiple Sclerosis
Creator   Jason Cachia
Close at  Wednesday, 1 December 2010
I'm taking part in the Blackmores Sydney Half Marathon on 19 September 2010 and hoping to raise much needed funds for research into Multiple Sclerosis.

MS has had a big impact on the lives of over 18,000 Australians. It is a cruel disease whereby the human body attacks itself, with the body's immune system attacking the central nervous system, slowly reducing functionality of motor, sensory and sometimes cognitive abilities.

MS is a disease that has perplexed medical science, and with medical research and charitable funding often directed to other diseases of broader public awareness such as breast cancer and leukemia, MS research is in critical need of continued funding to help those suffering from this terrible disease.

Please help make a difference by supporting my efforts and making a donation to my page. Any support great or small would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!
Jason

PS:  Please make donations with Visa or EFTPOS (as an additional 3.5% charge is deducted for AMEX and Mastercard by the donation administrators.
    Multiple Sclerosis Limited
MS Australia – ACT/NSW/VIC provides programs and choices to people with MS including a range of residential facilities, social support programs, accommodation support services, attendant care in private homes, involvement with regional centres and country link programs. These services are vital to maintain the independence and dignity of people with MS. Around 18,000 people in Australia currently have MS, however this figure is increasing as diagnosis methods become more advanced. The incidence of MS in Australia is growing by 10% each year and it means that we have to grow our support by at least 10% every year just to keep up! MS Australia partners with the community in seeking support to provide services to people with MS. This would not be possible without the generous financial support of people who donate to the organisation, those who actively fundraise in the community, or the 1300 people who volunteer their services in some way.
