Ems Amazing Monthly Challenges

Story

Thanks for visiting my TAPP Fundraising Page. 

 

The Amazing People Project is a campaign encouraging 250 people, to raise $250,000 over 250 days by doing something ‘amazing’ for themselves whilst doing something ‘amazing’ for others.  You can find out more by watching this video.



 

Firstly, I'm making my own personal target $10,000!  To achieve it , I need your help.  You can sponsor me to achieve my Amazing Idea by clicking on Donate Now (right).  All money raised will be distributed evenly amongst five amazing charities.

 
My overall aim is to complete the overall project, by trying to find these 250 amazing people who will participate!  But, my own personal challenges will be monthly, and with either be a personal goal or something I'm doing in support of  other TAPP members.

For May/June - I gave up alcohol for 28 days (yes, me!)

For July - I ran the Gold Coast Half Marathon

For August - I ran the City 2 Surf
For Sept - I'm running the 29k Coastal Classic Trail Run
For Oct - I'm doing the Inca Trail ... double eek!
For Nov - I'm trying to organise a singing gig - though the just the organisation of it seems to be a challenge!
For Dec - hopefully I get to hand over an amazing cheque to 5 amazing charities for $50,000 each!
 

Our 5 chosen charities are the Starlight Children's Foundation, The Inspire Foundation (reachout.com), Youngcare, CureCancer Australia and Careflight.  By raising $50,000 for each of these charities we will be making an amazing difference to many people in our community.

The Amazing People Project 2011 Charity Community

There are so many amazing charities in Australia, working to do great things across all areas of our community. Choosing the right charities for The Amazing People Project was in itself quite a challenge! Everyone has a cause dear to their heart and so we tried to choose charities that would cover different categories in our community. We created the criteria that the charity needed to be Australian, able to specify what the money would go towards, be registered for tax deductions so we could receipt our sponsors, and not be primarily government funded. We wanted charities that were doing amazing things for kids, youth, care, cure/research and general community. After several months of research, talking to different charities, these are the 5 ‘amazing’ charities we chose for the 2011 Amazing People Project.
