Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) is one of the most devastating and challenging conditions that a person may ever face. Life is changed forever, impacting on an individual’s physical functioning, independence and participation in daily activities, health & lifestyle. Traumatic SCI occurs most commonly in young people, as a result of motor accidents. Falls, sports injuries or non-traumatic conditions or illnesses such as spinal infections and cancer can also result in spinal cord impairment. The Spinal Cord Injury Network is a young and vibrant not for profit organisation. Our aim is to coordinate efforts to promote recovery, minimise disability and maximise quality of life. As an alliance of leading researchers, frontline clinicians and people with SCI who are committed to improving treatments for people with SCI. We are working together to develop research, facilitate clinical trials and improve translation of basic and clinical research into more effective treatments, even a cure.
The Spinal Cord Injury Network is a trading name of Australian Spinal Cord Injury Network Limited.
