MaAfrika Tikkun Fundraising

Family and Friends,

I have chosen to run the Blackmore 'Half Marathon' (Sydney Running Festival) this year for charity. The event takes place on Sunday September 19th.

The charity I have selected is MaAfrika Tikkun.

MaAfrika Tikkum is an international charity based in South Africa that focuses on caring for vulnerable children and orphans in townships, providing them with infrastructure, education and health care. It focuses on basic projects, which aim to improve the quality of life for both children and the community as a whole. HIV, rape, child abuse, woman abuse and a lack of education all contribute to making this a serious and confronting issue. This cause is important to me because both basic needs and fundamental human rights are currently not being met across these communities. We encourage you to read more, to do so, click here. Alternatively, watch a short a video, here.

Its so easy to read an email like this, put it off, and tell yourself that you'll donate at a later time. However I would love to create momentum and ultimately exceed my goal. The best way to do this is for as many people as possible to get behind the idea and donate now (http://www.gofundraise.com.au/lawsta). These are undeniably worthy causes and although several thousand dollars will not solve these problems in general, the money will greatly improve the life of a small number of people.

I have sent this email to 100+ people, if they and another member of their family gave $20 each together we would be able to raise over $4,000 for these just and worthy causes.

There is no function to attend, I'm not going to be having a BBQ, no ball, no sausage-sizzle, no snazzy cocktail night - no bullshit. Just a young sexy male hitting the pavement in the hope that I can do my small part, to make the life of some people, even a little bit similar to mine. We enjoy safety, freedom, we have food on the table and a warm place to sleep at night and I hope that by raising this money, we can offer such securities to a handful of humans alike.

Thank you in advance for your donation and remember to visit http://www.gofundraise.com.au/lawsta

Thanks
