Appeal for Ronin

Little RONIN is being treated for a serious eye ulcer, resulting from cat flu, which he picked up when being on Death Row at the pound. We have been treating his eye around the clock.

Ronan has been to the Dr Mark Billson the Ophthalmologist at the Small Animal Specialist Hospital (SASH) once so far and is due to go back again.

Ronin will definitely need surgery to one eye, but it is unclear if he may have to have the eye removed or just adhesions removed. He has recently made some good progress and Dr Bill Ilkin, from Kirrawee Vet who has been patiently monitoring and photographing his progress every week, is pleased with his progress.

He definitely has some vision in his bad eye, so it’s a bit of a wait and see situation at present. We’re not sure when his surgery will be, as sometimes Dr Billson likes kittens to grow more, like Azure did, before he does the surgery.

Sydney Pet Rescue & Adoption rescue and re-home companion animals from Death Row in pounds, and other homeless animals. We are committed to a no kill policy and keep the animals as long as necessary to find them a home. All of our rescued pets are desexed, vaccinated and vet checked, micro-chipped, flea and wormed.

Sydney Pet Rescue & Adoption receive no government funding and are dependent on our own fundraising efforts and the generosity of the public, for donations.

Donations are critical to our capacity to achieve our goal of saving as many pets as possible from Death Row, and finding them new loving, forever homes.

We are a registered charity, a non profit organisation and a Member Society of WSPA.

Sydney Pet Rescue & Adoption also operate an Assisted Re-homing Program, offering people help to find a new loving home, as an option to surrendering to a pound or animal shelter where they would normally be at high risk of euthanasia.

Sydney Pet Rescue & Adoption is committed to the promotion of responsible pet ownership, and the prevention of cruelty to animals.
