Thanks for visiting the Sweet Blue Photography fundraising page.   I'm Natalie Davies, owner/photographer of Sweet Blue Photography and a mother of 5.  I have started this page to help raise money and awareness for MND, a muscle wasting disease which there is no known cure.  The reason why I am so passionate about raising awareness is because is 1998 my mother was diagnosed with MND at the age of 47.   We are somewhat lucky, even though this disease has a short life expectancy my mother is now nearing her 60th birthday next year and is still suffering from the disease.  Although she can struggle with day to day activities we are very blessed she has the slow progressing form and she has been able to see her 10 grandkids enter the world.   Not many MND sufferes are as lucky as my mum.   Please feel free to make a donation to help make a difference.  MND Awareness week is May 2-8 2010 and for the entire month of May,  Sweet Blue Photography will be donating 50% ($50) of the session fee to MND research.  Please view my website www.sweetbluephotography.com.au if you would like to make a booking which will help MND research.   Thank you.
Motor Neurone Disease Research Institute of Australia
It is only with research that the future of MND will change. Motor neurone disease can strike anyone and over 500 Australians die from it each year. Motor neurones are nerves that make muscles work. For reasons that are not yet known, these nerves die in people with MND. When the nerves die, the muscles that are needed to move around, speak, swallow and breathe, fail to work normally. As more motor neurones die, muscles become paralysed and this inevitably leads to death. Go to www.mndresearch.asn.au for MND research information.

The Motor Neurone Disease Research Institute of Australia promotes MND research and encourages projects in both basic science (to understand the causes and find effective treatments and a cure) and applied research (to provide the best possible care for people living with MND). Funding is provided for MND research in Institutes throughout Australia.  Reports on the funded projects are published in a bi-annual newsletter which is distributed nationally.

The Motor Neurone Disease Research Institute of Australia aims to provide $1,000,000 for MND research each year and your help is needed to achieve this goal.
