The vision of the Cathy Freeman Foundation is simple: to help create an Australia where Indigenous and non-Indigenous children have the same education standards and opportunities in life.
The Cathy Freeman Foundation believes that education changes lives and delivers five programs that travel the journey of a child’s education from Pre Prep through to Year 12. The programs help broaden horizons and focus on improving school attendance, behaviour and literacy.
The Foundation acknowledges the strength and wisdom that lies within remote Indigenous communities and partners with community and school leaders to help build education pathways that work.
The Foundation currently works with 1600 Indigenous children and their families by partnering with four remote Indigenous communities: Palm Island and Woorabinda in Queensland and Wurrumiyanga and Galiwin’ku in the Northern Territory.
Put simply, we could not continue to change thousands of lives without individual and community support. By supporting us, you are directly contributing to positive education pathways for thousands of Indigenous children.
