NARBETHONG STATE SPECIAL SCHOOL HEATED LEARNING POOL

Through the use of Qld education grants and P&C funds the school has been able to commence building a long awaited for and much needed indoor heated learning pool.

The provision of this pool provides such wonderful opportunities for movement, freedom and happiness.

The dedicated parents and carers of these precious children are hoping to raise sufficient funds that will enable the school to supplement and enhance the very costly and specialised pool equipment that these children need.

It is hoped that $10,000 can be raised for pool equipment and aids to enable the children to get maximum benefit from the pool.

We welcome all contributions, great or small, supporting us in our fundraising effort to be able to reach our goal. All donations go directly to help purchase pool equipment and aids, helping to develop essential skills and allow free movement alongside bringing fun and smiles to these beautiful children.

Narbethong State Special School provides educational programs to students who are vision impaired, vision impaired with additional disabilities and for those students who are deaf blind. The school program has a commitment to the methodology of Active Learning which offers self paced developmental learning to all our students. Students have the opportunity to initiate, repeat and learn from their own play. Environments are developed for each student to provide opportunities to utilize already achieved motor, cognitive and emotional abilities. Additionally, such environments must arouse the students’ interest and curiosity to encourage further development through the activities.
