Every day, Australian country kids go without access to the developmental care they need, simply because of where they live. Country kids are 5 times as likely to have developmental challenges such as speech and language delays, behavioural and learning difficulties and mental illness compared to city kids. Providing comprehensive, specialist services for such complex issues is expensive. But, the cost of developmental healthcare is an investment – a necessary one for our country kids; their health, education, livelihood, community, and most importantly, their future.

Royal Far West is one of Australia’s most enduring and respected charities. We provide services to improve the health and wellbeing of country children at the Centre for Country Kids in Manly, as well as virtually via Telecare, and in local communities. We are always transforming to meet the ever-increasing demand for our services, as well as supporting the growing complexity in needs of children and families from rural and remote Australia. Last year Royal Far West supported over 9500 children, families and health professionals across the country. But these are more than just statistics, these are real children and families, and our services are helping bridge the gap between country kids and their metropolitan counterparts.

Here's some of the ways your donation can help a country kid:

• $200 can help connect a struggling country child with a developmental and mental health specialist, to access the assessments, therapy and healthcare services needed to change their trajectory in life and give them every opportunity for a bright future.
  
• $100 can help a child living in a rural or remote Australian community access specialist healthcare services like psychology, speech pathology and occupational therapy to build essential skills to thrive at home and school, and reach their full potential in life.
  
• $75 helps provide connected, multi-disciplinary services and support to the entire network of family, educators and health professionals for a country kid, giving them the best possible opportunity to learn, grow and reach their full potential.
