The Buttery is a non-government, not for profit community-based organisation. It is non-discriminatlry and not affiliated with any religious or political group. The Butery helps teenagers and adults who may have drug, alcohol, gambling or mental health issues. As well as residential programs, The Buttery has seven programs in the community. The Buttrey Private is The Buttery's social enterprise. Surplus funds are applied to The Buttery's charitable works. The Buttery commenced operations in 1975.and is now the largest non-government provider of drug and alcohol treatment programs in northern NSW.  The Buttery currently provides:  residential therapeutic community programs;  halfway houses for residents to safely integrate back into the community after completing the residential program and seven community based programs. All programsare evidence-based, best-practice and quality accredited.
